On May 10th, 180 teams gathered in Vilnius for the Women’s Rally — one of Lithuania’s most vibrant annual amateur driving events. Gurtam took part in the rally in three roles:
-
Official partner — supporting the organization and proudly sharing the values of amateur motorsport;
-
Telematics partner and provider — enabling real-time tracking, safety monitoring, and fair competition through our software;
-
Participant — with five teams from Gurtam’s Lithuanian HQ joining the race and experiencing it firsthand.
While participants enjoyed the thrill of the open road, Gurtam’s solutions worked quietly in the background, making sure everything ran safely, smoothly, and transparently.
At the starting line and before
Every rally begins long before the start line. Months of planning go into organizing an event like this, and once it kicks off, everything flows into the command center — the operational hub of the rally.
Behind the scenes, during the competition, the Women's Rally’s command center operated as the brain of the event — a room filled with screens showing the location and movement of every team in real time.
Telematics software solutions allow information to be transmitted over a distance using data transmission systems. Simply put, telematics is like a 'smart assistant' that collects and transmits information to help better understand what is happening to crews during an event. Telematics is used for participant and staff navigation, transport monitoring, safety, and collecting and analysing event results.
With modern tracking systems, the organisers can monitor the participants' movements in real time, analyse their telemetry data, anticipate possible situations on the track, and take preventive action in time.

Technology meets the thrill of competition
Before the race, each vehicle was equipped with a tracker, which allowed organizers to monitor performance, exact location, speed, and direction in real time. As participants made their way through scenic routes and surprise tasks, their devices quietly transmitted data that kept the entire operation connected.
The Women’s Rally is a celebration of speed, coordination, and women’s energy. Behind the scenes, technology quietly ensured that everything ran smoothly, helping organizers manage the event in real time and giving all participants a safer, more seamless experience.
For Gurtam, partnering with the Women’s Rally in Lithuania wasn’t just a technical collaboration. It was an opportunity to show how IoT solutions go beyond traditional GPS fleet tracking and reveal additional dimensions of their potential.
It’s also worth noting that both motorsport and IT have long been seen as male-dominated fields, where women were often in the minority. But times are changing — and bold steps are being taken. In the world of IoT and tech, women are leading the way, driving innovation, and redefining what’s possible. At Gurtam, 47% of our workforce is made up of talented, driven women who are ready to show their skills, both in the workplace and on the rally stage.

So what about results? For the first time, five teams from Gurtam’s Lithuanian office — the company’s global headquarters — participated in the rally. Colleagues from different departments came together to test their skills, teamwork, and nerves under pressure. Competing alongside 180 other teams, they experienced firsthand the intensity and energy of the event they helped support behind the scenes.
One of the Gurtam teams, Gasolina Queens, won the Guest category. The rest of the company's crews also finished the rally, adding their own stories to the day.

Whether navigating winding routes or solving on-the-go challenges, each Gurtam crew displayed the same spirit of precision, adaptability, and drive that powers the technology they work on every day.
