In the racing world, the apex is the point on a corner where the car is closest to the inside edge of the track. Hitting the apex helps a driver take the shortest and fastest line through the turn, maintaining more speed and setting up a stronger exit onto the next straight.
Just as drivers approach the apex to position themselves for maximum speed on the next straight, we at Gurtam spent 2025 approaching our own turning point: facing challenges, learning, and preparing for what comes next. The year 2025 brought no shortage of new discoveries. It also laid a solid foundation for further growth. Let’s take a closer look at how it all unfolded.
5 million connected units
In June, we surpassed a major milestone — more than 5 million vehicles and other assets worldwide were connected to our products (Wialon, flespi and GPS‑Trace). This milestone, reflects combined usage across all our platforms, underscores the global scale of Gurtam’s business and the trust placed in our services by IoT solution providers around the world. For us it’s more than just a metric. It signals confidence in Gurtam’s reliability, service quality, and trust in our long-term vision.
AI breakthrough
Beyond growth in numbers, we focused on enhancing efficiency and automation across our platforms. Our AI assistant, Codi, has evolved into a powerful, protocol-aware helper capable of debugging devices, analyzing historical support cases, and adapting to user preferences. By mid-year, Codi was generating 90% of support responses, demonstrating that AI can now handle routine queries efficiently while freeing our teams to focus on more complex solutions.
Our “AI protocol engineer” initiative is another milestone: this system can autonomously investigate protocol implementations, trace real telematics data traffic, and even suggest code changes under human supervision. These advancements signal that we are moving beyond AI-assisted toward AI-driven innovation across development, QA, and customer service, making our platforms smarter, more responsive, and better equipped to serve a rapidly growing global user base.
This year, we also continued developing our internal AI tools, which help us meet partner needs faster and more efficiently while automating routine tasks. The year culminated in our internal hackathon, where 13 different AI-based projects were presented, spanning our platforms, internal processes, and business development. These projects were not only showcased but also launched in a test environment, demonstrating our team’s ability to turn ideas into working solutions and the significant progress we’ve made with AI.
Telematics and Connected Mobility conference
This year we proudly launched the Telematics & Connected Mobility conference, an industry event held on September 10–11 at LITEXPO in Vilnius. The event united more than 500 professionals from across the globe: fleet operators, IoT innovators, hardware makers, software developers, connectivity and telematics service providers. Over two full days, the conference delivered a rich, dual‑track program with sessions on business strategy, AI and mobility trends, as well as deep technical talks on platform architecture, hardware and software integration, and next‑gen telematics technologies. The accompanying technology expo zone offered hands-on demos and meaningful networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect directly with peers, partners, and innovators. This event represents our contribution to the global telematics community and helps establish Lithuania as a key hub in the worldwide telematics industry.
Wialon Platform
This year we introduced Wialon Platform, a new, cloud‑native, no‑code fleet digitalization solution designed to give telematics service providers flexibility, control, and speed. Unlike traditional, ready‑made solutions, Wialon Platform allows partners to build and brand their own fleet‑management applications, tailor interfaces and workflows to client needs, and scale seamlessly without writing code.
Developing the Wialon Platform within a mature ecosystem like ours was a challenge: we had to balance high partner expectations, a rich legacy, and the need for innovation. We opted for a modern architectural foundation powered by our backend system (flespi), which handles data ingestion, message processing and analytics, freeing the Wialon Platform team to focus on business logic, user experience and configurability.
We believe Wialon Platform does more than add a new product to our portfolio: it charts a new course for fleet digitalization, giving our partners the tools to create unique, compliant, scalable solutions tailored for different markets and clients.
Community impact
In 2025 we continued investing in initiatives that bring positive impact beyond technology. We carried on our environmental efforts with a tree-planting initiative, contributed to empowering women in motorsport by supporting the Women Rally 2025 — an event that promotes teamwork, and active lifestyles. This year we once again sponsored Benediktas Vanagas in the Dakar rally — standing behind determination, resilience, and excellence both on and off the track. Alongside this, we strengthened our internal and professional communities by hosting 9 open knowledge sharing events and debates, creating space for learning, connection, and shared growth.
One of the most heartfelt moments of the year was our charity hike with the dogs from Tautmilės Prieglaudėlė shelter — a day full of wagging tails, happy faces, and warm hearts. With 144 tickets sold, we raised funds for the shelter, along with food, toys, and other essentials generously brought by participants.
Recognition
This year we have been recognized on multiple fronts — both for our technological leadership and corporate responsibility. At the European Enterprise Awards 2024 we were named “Best Fleet Management & IoT Software Solutions Developer 2024” and received the “Innovation & Leadership Excellence Award 2024” — accolades that underscore how our platforms are driving fleet digitalization across Europe. Meanwhile, at the National Responsible Business Awards in Lithuania, we earned three distinct honours: Socially Responsible Company of the Year, Most Community‑Oriented Company of the Year, and Company with the Safest and Most Supportive Work Environment.
In 2025, Wialon was recognized for Excellence in transportation technology by The Global Tech Awards. The Global Tech Awards highlight tech solutions that stand out for real innovation and impact, so we’re excited to see Wialon included this year. It’s a great reflection of the work our team puts in — and the results our partner community achieves every day.
Being among the Top 10 technology companies in Lithuania, according to Verslo žinios rating, for the second year in a row brings us extra pride — especially knowing that our commitment to transparent performance, ethical governance, and real business impact is recognised both within the industry and by the community. These recognitions motivate us to keep delivering innovative telematics solutions while building a responsible, supportive, and forward‑looking organisation.
Back to the race world
Just before the apex, the driver usually tries to find the optimal speed for the turn and then begins rapidly accelerating. We are in a similar stage now — taking steps to prepare for significant growth and to deliver even more value to our partners. Although at first glance 2025 seemed very eventful, we are only entering the apex.
Thank you to our partners and employees for being part of Gurtam’s story this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families!
