GITEX Technology Week is back in 2022, attracting tech giants from various industries. The Wialon team joined the show with the IoT zone, having top-notch technology on display.

This article looks into the gist of the 5-day show and explores the trends of the MENA region for the upcoming years.

The Middle East is gaining momentum

The 42nd edition of GITEX, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) largest exhibition, began on October 10 through October 14. The show saw 5,000 exhibitors from 90 countries worldwide, 130,000+ attendees, and 1,000+ speakers, making the Middle East stand out in the international technology arena.

Bringing together the Wialon community

We were all set to participate in GITEX Technology Week and demonstrate the Wialon potential to partners and local telematics professionals.

“We are at the forefront of great developments in the IoT industry. With 5G, optic fiber, and satellite Internet coverage, the digital divide between next-billion Internet users and the IoT technology is being bridged. Soon, we will see those technologies we deal with today get evolved into fully fledged vehicle-to-everything solutions.”

As usual, the Wialon team created an interactive IoT zone shared with 10 co-exhibitors. The participants presented their latest solutions, discussed implementation opportunities, and shared unique expertise. These were the telematics service providers and hardware manufacturers exhibiting in the IoT zone in 2022:

“This year, GITEX was just massive. The Wialon IoT zone was more impressive than ever. It was an attraction point to major telematics players and IoT providers, hardware manufacturers, and software developers.

The most pleasant moments are always about personal meetings with the partners who haven’t seen each other for a while because of the COVID-19 restrictions. We aim to keep in personal touch with all the international partners and GITEX is just a perfect exhibition to do so.”

Previously, Wialon drew unprecedented attention from the IoT and telematics experts visiting the show. This year was no exception. We thank everyone for expressing sheer interest in the Wialon platform and sharing their experience in integrating complex GPS tracking solutions.

Prior to the exhibition, we had yet another chance to connect with our partners. Wialon threw the IoT project of the year 2022 award ceremony, a global event that joined the most influential telematics and IoT experts. You can read the recap to learn more about the event.

The MENA region updates

Making huge strides in digital transformation, the Middle East and North Africa pivots towards becoming one of the world’s technologically advanced regions. The telematics market is also booming and is expected to grow by 20.17% in a decade.

Wialon has built a firm presence in the region and is planning to expand. In 2021–2022 alone, the number of connected vehicles increased by 10%.

Connecting with Wialon partners to share ideas and perspectives

Our MENA region partners continue to push the boundaries, building innovative products across delivery monitoring, railway infrastructure management, utility service control, etc., tailored to the needs of local customers.

During the 5 eventful days, we met top industry leaders and exchanged our vision of cutting-edge technologies disrupting the IoT and telematics ecosystem. See our Facebook gallery for more photos from the event. Next year, we look forward to taking part in the show again to discuss even more challenging and innovative projects.
