We’re introducing the Wialon integration with the Sixfold platform to provide better monitoring of carrier performance. How is it working? How to get the solution? Find the answers to these and other questions below.

About Sixfold

Sixfold is Europe’s leading real-time transportation visibility platform which supports customers in more than 25 European languages. The most notable feature of the Sixfold system is its prediction engine that empowers incoming raw telemetry, map, and weather data with machine learning algorithms. This, in turn, enables proactive alerts on any delays and helps to plan operations in the best way.

Problem

The Sixfold’s clients are mainly shippers and logistics service providers, who need telematics providers to get the transportation visibility of their carriers and sub-contractors. The main challenge they face is inefficient freight monitoring. Getting the live status of a customer order costs a lot of time and effort. The companies have to make repeated calls to drivers to check every delivery, and often they need to manually send inquiries by e-mail to update their status.

Another huge problem is the lack of overview and control. Often the shipper and the end client are not aware of the shipment status. This information may be known only to the truck driver and the carrier organization until the actual arrival of the goods at the destination.

Also, many companies find it hard to manage exceptions, which often negatively impact client relations as it’s not possible to manage exceptions and promptly resolve any problems in advance. Once delivery is completed, it may be difficult for a shipper to track and compare carrier performance because these organizations typically provide information in a variety of formats and volumes, some of which are of suboptimal quality.

Solution

The highlighted problems required a proper solution. Considering that Wialon has a wide market reach, Sixfold was pleased to partner with Wialon to strengthen both business models and provide more value to the clients on both ends. Thus, Sixfold established a connection through the HTTP-interface and started receiving Wialon data asynchronously to incorporate the monitoring data into the process of carrier tracking.

Sixfold integrates with carriers, as well as their respective systems (e.g., FMS/TMS). This info, along with adjacent data, including AI and machine learning algorithms, TMS data generated by Wialon, is used to make the predictions. These predictions are being shared back, as well as to end customers if needed.

Results

By these means, all the processes are arranged more effectively, faster and seamlessly. Particularly, there is no need to check every delivery – everyone including the shipper and end-user knows about the shipment status without any additional effort. All the emerging issues are resolved on-the-go.
