Wialon Hosting: What’s new in December 2017?

So, here we are at the end of the year. Hooray! We hope very much that 2017 was more than successful for each of you our partners. We also know that now you are definitely busy finishing the year and summing up the results of your hard work. For this reason, December Wialon Hosting update will be quite small and simple so that you could have enough time to prepare great Christmas presents for your family and friends. Here you go.

Password strength indicator

We are pretty sure that all of you at least once in your life used QWERTY or 12345 as a password. It is easy to remember...or to hack. But Wialon is not a social media account. Here the data loss or settings reset can become costly for business. That’s why we recommend using more complicated passwords. Now at user/account creating and editing the system will inform you of password strength level.For example, Wialon won’t let you save the password if it is shorter than 4 characters. If you use only letters, the system will tell that “The password is too simple”.When the user enters or has already entered the password, the field will be coloured in accordance with its complexity: red — “Fair”, yellow — “Good”, and green — “Strong”.When creating the password we recommend keeping up with the following requirements:

• Password can’t contain the username (for example, the user “pele_test” will not be able to use the password “pele_test1”);
• Password should contain upper- and lower-case letters;
• Password should contain figures (from 0 to 9) or symbols (for example, !, $, #, %).

Following these requirements, you will responsibly protect your account.

Reports

Thanks to a new option you can split the charts by days and weeks of a reporting period when exporting a report into a file. Earlier, when printing out the chart you got a difficult-to-grasp document. Now you can quickly print out several individual charts and use them for further analysis or reporting.

Tracks

For you to spend less time for system configuration, in “Tracks” tab you can now select 1 of 4 parameters to display unit movements on the map with different colors: “By trips”, “By speed”, “By sensor” and “Single”. If the setting is not specified, then track color is single. In other cases, track color depends on the unit performance at a given track section.

Other

Some other minor system improvements got into the current update too. Despite the fact that they are not really noticeable to ordinary users they make the working process more comfortable. We speeded up the system loading process, optimized messages export and geoсoding excessive queries in “Monitoring” tab. We also made some adjustments to speed up report generation.One more year passed. It turned out to be really productive. We delivered lots of various projects and updates.
