IoT project of the year: submit your solution! UPD: Community choice cancelled

Since 2017, we have the Wialon TOP 50 Global ranking in our telematics community. Within this rating, we mark the companies that connected the largest number of units over the year. In 2019, we also created the GPS Hardware Manufacturers TOP 10 ranking for the most successful hardware manufacturers. Its results are based on the number of connected devices by a particular brand.

But what about telematics projects? After all, they are the ones to show all the platform’s capabilities and how it can be applied in various spheres. Moreover, the project’s complexity here has nothing to do with the number of units connected. Today, we are launching a new global competition – IoT project of the year! Read on to know more.

Why participate?

This competition is an excellent opportunity to:

  • introduce your best projects to the professional community;
  • get a new perspective on your business and compare it with the industry competitors;
  • exchange ideas, approaches, and technologies with your colleagues;
  • promote yourself on the market and acquire new clients;
  • increase your company's credibility;
  • reinforce the expert reputation in the industry.

The competition is literally global. Telematics IoT projects from all over the world can take part in it, and it’s fantastic. We will evaluate the projects by multiple criteria, which will allow us to analyze them from every angle and choose the best ones.

Besides, all the participating projects will be published in our use cases library in two languages. The winners and the most challenging projects will also make it to the Gurtam blog, with winners giving exclusive interviews. All the details on the participants will be found in our social media as well.

Participation details

Who can apply

Any company that successfully delivered the project using telematics and IoT technologies can apply for participation no matter the software and hardware used.

Participation rules

Participation in the competition is free! We accept projects that meet the following requirements:

  • The project implementation took place within the period from January 1, 2019, to May 1, 2020;
  • The project information that you submit in the application form should be confirmed in writing by the end-user (we will provide the template);
  • For Wialon partners, the data on the end-user who ordered the implementation should be filled in on my.wialon.com.

Why participate?

The application should include:

  • The project description (as much information as possible on all the required points);
  • The project results expressed in figures;
  • Partner’s and end-user’s contacts to clarify the project details.

The competition will be held in 15 nominations, which means that each project will find its spot in the list of participants.

We also singled out the Community choice nomination. Its winner will be determined through open voting among the members of the partner community.

The number of projects that we received for the IoT project of the year competition exceeded a hundred. But the thing is that most of them we got when there were just three days left until the submission deadline.

That’s why there will be no vote for the winner of the Community Сhoice nomination this year.

Unfortunately, we don’t have enough time and resources to process and publish so many projects and organize voting until the award ceremony that will take place already in a week, on August 13.

We apologize for not providing the opportunity to vote for the favorite projects this year.

The vote in the Community Сhoice nomination will take place within the IoT project of the year 2021.

Please note! One project can be submitted for just one nomination. However, the number of projects per company is not limited (provided that they take part in different nominations).

Winners determining

The jury of Wialon implementation consultants and other Gurtam experts will assess the projects.

The assessment will take place by the following criteria:

  • the description completeness (goals, challenges, solution);
  • implementation ROI;
  • the project size;
  • correspondence of the tasks and the software used to the overall goals of the project;
  • the project scalability and replicability.

Timeline

IoT project of the year competition timeline

International travels still remain in question due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but it won’t prevent us from awarding the winners. The award ceremony will be held online, so everyone will be able to get there!

We look forward to receiving your applications and are getting ready to assess the most extraordinary IoT projects in the world!

The members of the Wialon community can submit their projects on my.wialon.com. For those who work with other telematics platforms, we prepared a special form to fill in.

Why participate? Why participate?

As the competition is global and one-of-a-kind, don’t miss a chance to take part in it to get into the history of not just the partner community but also the entire telematics industry. Use this opportunity to promote your company, especially taking into account the current complicated business environment. Bright recovery from the crisis is already here!
