Wialon NOC: an insight into Data Center performance

13 April, 2015

One of our main goals is to ensure reliability and security of your data. Having improved Wialon software, Gurtam discovered better ways to manage our Network Operations Center (NOC).

People unfamiliar with the company wonder how we can possibly deal with so many users, receive so much data from remote terminals and still provide high-quality service.

The structure of our software and data center allows us to successfully manage system downtimes. Even if half of Gurtam servers go down, users will be unaware of it due to stability of the system and absence of data losses.

To take our project to the next level, we would like to present the Wialon Network Operations Center – a platform for users to monitor our work.

What will you find there?

Different tools to check data storage and operating activities including but not limited to:

Statistics

The amount of units and users online; the number of messages received per minute; types of hardware integrated into the system.

Statistics

Points 1 and 2 can be analyzed in detail (see the graph below).

Statistics

Subsystem condition markers

There are markers for each subsystem. They can change color depending on the system’s stability. The shift from green to yellow means insignificant system failures. As a rule, such failures don’t affect Wialon performance. Yellow markers also indicate software update in progress. Red markers indicate failures of one of the system’s components due to network malfunction. We register and address such cases timely.

Events/Event calendar

Here you can find information on scheduled activities like maintenance works and updates as well as possible system failures. The calendar is updated automatically. We use different colors to mark types of events.
