This November we decided to release the system update by parts – a small portion at the beginning of the month and the rest in a couple of weeks. Why? Maybe because the stars aligned this way or maybe for you to better learn the already released functionality. In this article, you will get to know what latest features we are presenting today and which ones will be out only in a fortnight.
For more handy work Gurtam has already developed color identification of track sections according to speed and sensor values as well as a stand-alone web application Track Player. But there is still more you need to know. Starting from November update, separate trips inside each track can be displayed in different colors on the map and in “Tracks” panel. Note! “Trip detector” should be activated and properly configured! Moreover, on the map, you can tap a certain trip and learn some additional info, such as mileage, start and end time, in a drop-down list under the main interval. The markers of the trip start and end will become a cherry on the cake of advanced visualization.See more features in “Stable” branch already in two weeks! Why are we talking about them now? Because you still have a chance to affect their development by leaving your ideas and comments on our forum. And now let’s elaborate on the most awaited features of November.
Getting access to the object’s location has become easier not only for you but for your clients as well. In fact, soon you'll be able to automate this process – just configure the notifications with Locator links to be sent to the client’s e-mail or mobile device. For this purpose, we added a new “LOCATOR_LINK” tag to notifications. Thanks to the option of setting the life time of the link and configuring track and geofence display, the user gets a quick access to an object with a triggered notification.Let’s imagine a situation. A person works in an office but at the same time rents out his car to a carsharing company. He himself, his wife, his mother-and-brother-in-law (who lent money for the car purchase) or a carsharing dispatcher – anyone – get the link as soon as the car starts moving and can monitor this car for the whole day. In 8 hours, when the working day is over the link dies and the person can keep on using the car to his personal advantage. And the best part of it – the process is automated and doesn’t require your involvement.
If we ever stop advancing notifications, it won’t be today for sure. Thanks to an updated“SENSOR” tag for notification text you will be able to set a sensor mask to receive values of a specific sensor. You are still able to display the values of all available sensors but if today of all days you are interested only in a fuel level, temperature or axle load, just specify the sensor mask getting rid of extra information in notifications and increasing the response speed.
To prepare the report module for the update we are extending counter sensor opportunities. At the end of November, the timeout for split intervals will become available. Just set the minimum interval duration, to sum up the intervals that are shorter than the set value. Less means better if you get only relevant intervals of counter sensor operation.Still reports. In “Sensor traсing” table there appeared the possibility of sensor text values display. Now you won’t miss anything while tracing sensors of any type.In November we are also going to notably improve the report on fuel traffic and add:
So what about now? What about today? © Daughtry The best thing you can do at the moment is trying the new functionality in “Tracks” module and leave your ideas and suggestions on the upcoming Wialon features on our forum. See you in a snowy December!
