Wialon Hosting: Summarizing June Changes

Summer is the perfect time for vacations and usually is a slowdown in the business activities. But Gurtam is focused on the ongoing improvement of Wialon. We constantly analyze the customer feedback and preferences to provide a powerful and convenient tool for business optimization. June is no exception. Here is the overview on features improved.

Essential changes in locator

The locator tool is gaining popularity. As more and more people use the tool, the number of inquiries for the advanced functionality increases.We considered all the received proposals to see what exactly should be upgraded in locator. The first summer month brought important changes for the tool. Here are the features added:

• Building a track for several units
• The life span of the link displayed

• Sensors visualization. If sensor masks are checked in settings additionally to geofences and tracks, the list will show time from the last message sent, unit last location, sensor masks and colors if chosen

The new features were designed to make the process of providing information fast and comfortable. You can now share not only the unit location, but also any sensor parameters e.g. temperature inside the reefer container, cargo weight, engine turnovers, passenger flow etc.

Advanced filtering in “Messages” panel

We implemented the advanced filtering in the “Messages” panel. That includes:

• Special marks support (“?”,  “*”,  “,”) to replace one or several symbols and perform multisearch
• Highlighting and transferring the target elements to the beginning of the line in the alphabetical order
• The search of parameters with their values

In addition to special marks support we added the following math parameters:  «=», «>», «<», «<=», «=>».The above listed parameters take priority over the special marks as they provide a more accurate search.

Apps dialog customized

The popularity of Wialon is based on its flexibility and the constant development of the Wialon Apps. The number of the custom-made apps for specific business needs is continuously growing.This month we’ve added some features to make work with the Apps panel more convenient:

• List and tile views for personal choice
• A new filter for a quick search
• Drag-and-drop function to place apps in the desired order

Modified mini-maps for Google Street View

We upgraded minimaps and made work with Google Street View more convenient:

• More workspace due to optimized interposition of the core elements
• Improved readability of address and speed information now displayed on a background pad

Unit group monitoring

The single unit functionality is now available for unit groups. Use minimaps and experience the advanced information in a unit group monitoring mode. 

Checked geofences to the top of the list

Displaying checked units on the top is now available for geofences. The function can be particularly used for the next modules:

• Reports – Table (Unit/ Geofence), Non-visited Geofences (Unit/ Geofence), Rides (Starting and Terminal points), Unfinished rides (Starting and Terminal points)
• Notifications – Unit/Unit Group/Geofence, Fuel filling, Fuel theft
