Wialon Hosting 1703 Update

1703 marks not only the Great Storm in England or the latest Microsoft Windows 10 version, but also the new Wialon Hosting update we have been working upon for the whole month!  Long-awaited report for fuel dispensers, user interface enhancements and much more – let us introduce Wialon Hosting 1703.

Fuel traffic report

Following the numerous requests of our partners, we’ve released a new fuel traffic report, designed to show the data on fuel fillings, thefts and the intervals of counter sensor’s operation in one table. It can be generated for a fuel truck, a milk tanker, a harvester, etc.

The new report has a basic set of options for grouping and filtering. Thus, you can get the data on fuel fillings of the crossed units filtering intervals by units/geofences for the counter sensor.

Flexible consumption rate calculation

We keep on enhancing Wialon flexibility trying to simplify the system interface as well. Thus in Wialon Hosting 1703 we’ve removed “general sensors parameters”, “consumption math” and “consumption by rates” sections from Fuel Consumption tab of Unit Properties dialog. And there’s a reason for it – we made it more flexible,  yet preserved all the necessary functionality.

Earlier “General sensors parameters” section with its merging options overlapped with the existing system functions. Therefore, the section has been removed from Fuel Consumption tab.

“Math consumption” section has also been taken down since idling fuel consumption rate is now calculated based on rates set for each ignition sensor individually. As for urban and suburban cycles, fuel consumption rates are calculated based on values of the corresponding engine efficiency sensors adjusted for the unit.

Instead of “Сonsumption by rates” section you can use an opportunity to modify message time into a day number of the year (January 1 is for the first day of the year), thus defining seasonal variations for fuel consumption rates calculation. Based on a day number you can create an engine efficiency sensor to measure excessive fuel consumption, for instance with a/c constantly on in summer or climate control usage in winter.   

Due to deleting the sections mentioned above, we managed to simplify the system interface yet keeping previous options available. Those, however, became more flexible and allow for accurate consumption rate calculation, e.g. for heavy machinery, construction equipment, etc.

If you already use  consumption by rates or math options, we’d like to assure you that the above changes won’t affect your current work. All units have been automatically readjusted to the new mechanism of fuel consumption calculation.

The advancements of fuel consumption calculation algorithm may seem complicated at the start, but we aim for making it simple. Icons improvement

In the previous Wialon Hosting update we implemented new interface icons which caught some buzz in Wialon community since any changes are always hard to accept. We’ve considered your opinions carefully and have enhanced the icons in Wialon Hosting 1703 to make the interface clear and user-friendly both for current and new users of the system. We’d like to thank each and every one for your constructive feedback which helps us make Wialon better.

Also, in the new Wialon Hosting update we’ve unified CMS Manager icons so that Wialon looked consistent and we could be able to seamlessly enhance both Wialon Hosting and CMS Manager UI in future.

SMS Messages report for resource

By request of our partners we’ve improved SMS messages report for resource which provides a possibility to view information about all the SMS messages sent by users of any resource for the indicated period of time. We’ve added a new “Count” column to the report table showing the number of messages sent. Also, now you can use grouping-by-user option to quickly sort the necessary data of the report.
