Wialon app 2.0: new version is out soon

In today’s world, it’s hard to overestimate the importance of mobile applications. For many industries, including telematics, mobile apps are growing as a part of enterprise ecosystems. For example, the number of monthly Wialon app users has shown a 50% increase since July 2018. 

We always strive for making Wialon more convenient so that you could log into the platform anytime, anywhere from any device and get the equally great service, be it desktop or mobile. That’s why back in May we launched the open beta-testing of the new Wialon app.

There was a great deal of feedback from the active testers which helped us immensely in making the app better. So, we are happy to announce that the v.2.0 of Wialon app will be available on August 20. 

Functionality

Closer to that date, we’ll share a detailed post on its functionality, while today it is a sort of sneak peek into what to expect. 

You may have noticed these features have been already available for testing in beta, but August 20 will be the official birthdate for them:

• The new tab for managing notifications;

• The option to receive messages from CMS;

• The option to build the route in a third-party app, or use Street View;

• The quick access to the unit’s menu;

• The auto-lock screen setting;

• More features for improving your Wialon experience.

Wialon Local and white label support wasn’t available in beta and will be introduced in Wialon app 2.0 for the first time.

Building the routes in third-party apps, receiving CMS messages, and managing notifications will be available in Wialon app 2.0

Where to get the new app?

Now, there are two versions of Wialon app in stores: the current one and the beta one.

On August 20, Wialon app 2.0 will appear on Google Play and App Store, replacing the current app. You will need to update it manually, or it will be updated automatically (depending on the settings of your phone or tablet).

The beta app will be removed from the stores.
