Africa: When it Was Time for Another Adventure

Late in May, when Gurtam believed it was high time for another adventure – the team set off for Securex in South Africa, and been sufficiently impressed by the level of organization and the new business insights introduced during the show. 

With a legacy spanning over 20 years, Securex continues to be the largest security show in Africa. For Gurtam it was a good place to meet people involved in the industry. It was clear that the key players are mostly familiar to each other, but the daily rush provides very little opportunity for business communication, which is why Securex became a unique platform to do that. Technology and product partners like Meitrack, RCS-Navigation, iTrackerX were neighboring with us on a very profound level, which all contributed to raising the customer awareness over the industry and the product. 

The main themes were able to give detail and comprehension on security, energy and environment and on the latest developments, trends, services and products in the fields. Other topics include access control, biometrics, video surveillance, IP security and intelligent buildings. The key purpose, however, was clear – the ambition was to merge the systems and strategies of all providers, so that the industry becomes more profitable, more efficient and a lot more effective. With Gurtam, of course, taking its inevitable share. 

The visitors paid also attention to the presented refreshed versions of known solutions from Gurtam. One of them was the new Wialon Local updated solution, enhanced by including the various advanced report options. Also, the Video Content Support in Wialon aroused great interest. 

The Gurtam booth was frequently visited both by the beginners who only start learning the specifics of the security industry, as well as by those who are already versed in Gurtam solutions and use them successfully in their daily work. The audiences expressed very positive opinions about the features which only recently have been added to our product portfolio. The visitors were also impressed by the new features of the updated Interface, and the possibilities of LBS locator. Other product enhancements like Wialon Logistics and Eco Driving tool improvements caused great interest and admiration from other technology players. 

On a grand scale Securex became place where each player was able to present on a very large scale all kinds of security solutions in fleet management industry and beyond, allowing to profoundly enhance safety standards.
