The whole world from Siberia to Cameroon goes mobile. Gurtam follows the trend by constantly upgrading Wialon mobile app which has already resulted in 100 000+ installations. Moreover, Wialon becomes a basis or a data-source for numerous third-party applications.

Gurtam partner CamTrack from Cameroon tries new ways to deliver telematic services with Wialon-based Track As You Go application available in Google Play. With a view to extend the range of services, our partner makes another value proposition of mobile tracking by offering both real-time control and flexible billing system in one app.

Mobility as a business

Track As You Go app is designed for those who appreciate simple tracking in a handy interface with core functionality available at no hidden fees:

  • Detect vehicle location in real time
  • Explore movement history over a specified period
  • Get notifications when the vehicle is leaving the established area
  • Locate vehicles in case of theft or other unfavorable events

CamTrack use the application to the full extent and beyond. The company made it another business opportunity to promote associated services, like hardware installation and maintenance: to access the application you’ll need to install a GPS kit purchased from CamTrack or one of its partners in the region. Following the installation, a customer gets the account for service activation using the received parameter.

Another innovation implemented in the app is a special billing system, allowing to promptly activate subscription with Orange Money™ and MTN Mobile Money™ linked to your mobile number, which are among the most popular mobile payment and money transfer services in several African countries. At that, the list of connectivity service providers is expected to broaden, along with alternative payment options, like VISA card payment being on its way.

What makes difference?

The concept of flexible billing system by CamTrack is what Gurtam partners can benefit from either.

All up the idea is simple: when you own a vehicle you’ll definitely won’t need to track the car you are driving. But be it a friend borrowing your vehicle for a week, or a wife with her own car being repaired, or your son, a teenage driver lacking experience, you’d like to make sure that both a driver and a vehicle are safe.

In case your client doesn’t need continuous GPS tracking, he may benefit from being charged for 24 hours, one month, a quarter, half a year and a year which allows to eliminate unwanted payments for days-not-tracked.

The model proved to be effective and may be referred for a variety of businesses worldwide to make customer service more flexible, transparent and user-friendly than the one of your rivals.

Your clients track it when they really need it and immediately make payments from their smartphones.

You promote related company services and raise brand awareness.

The developers are committed to the service development and are already considering the possibility to add WiaTag functionality to the app, making the service universal and generally available. At the moment the interface is available only in French, but it's just a matter of time when English and other international languages appear.

This is how you can generate additional income, and it’s not only about SDK developments, but any other service in Wialon system. Take a thought, while CamTrack actions and succeeds.
