At the end of May, Gurtam team visited two security events that took place at the same time but in different parts of the world. Securex 2018 was traditionally held in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Brazilian São Paulo hosted Exposec. Today, we will share our Securex experience.
This year, Securex welcomed over 5,000 visitors from 27 countries and featured more than 1,000 novelties from the sphere of corporate and personal security.
The show turned out to be an utter success for Gurtam. Neither world crisis nor internal issues of the Dark Continent countries are able to curb the market development. An ever-growing number of partners is willing to meet up at the exhibition, and the number of those wanting to start using Wialon is growing as well. Each member of our team had scores of business cards from potential clients by the end of the day.
That’s why we have already booked the space for our next year booth. And it is going to be much bigger than just a standard 3x3 square. 2019 event promises to be a blast!
“Video surveillance” caption on our booth wall worked like magic attracting almost every passing visitor. Given the event topic and peculiarities of the local telematics market, no wonder that prospective integrators and end-users were so much interested in what Wialon can do in the sphere of video surveillance.
Besides, when they spotted Howen Technologies and Streamax equipment and learned about other supported devices and the way they operate in the monitoring platform, they were just amazed. Thanks to their amazement, the manufacturers of unsupported MDVRs started dropping by our booth in an effort to find out what was Gurtam and Wialon. The thing was that their potential customers refused to try samples if they didn’t work with Wialon!
Technical sessions have been running non-stop too. Our support specialist was busy all the time explaining the system’s twists and turns to different partners over and over again. It looked like this – one person, one table, multiple interlocutors. Real speed dating aside the fact that it was not romantic at all!
“Our long-term partners asked specific questions on fuel control, report building and so on. Fresh partners wanted a piece of advice considering not only the technical part but also sales and marketing,” says Konstantin Batkin, Support Specialist.
Fleet Data Technologies, Power Governors Ltd., Tracking Africa, Accurate Payroll Botswana, Guardsat Mozambique had a tremendously useful time at the booth. It could well be the case that soon they would forget about basic monitoring. Due to Konstantin’s training they now have such an excellent tool for advanced fuel control, driver behavior monitoring, routing, and other cool things. Wialon is not as complicated as it might seem!
Even those partners that hadn’t booked meetings beforehand and stopped by accidentally did manage to have a talk with our team and get answers to all their questions.
So, during three exhibition days, we held 30(!) planned meetings, ten unplanned ones, and three business dinners. We handed out seems like thousand business cards, got around the same number of them, nearly lost our voices, but remained completely satisfied with the results of the work. We are sure that next year Securex will be even greater.
See you at Securex 2019!
