The spring announcements of last week have recently gained a lot of feedback from partners and developers. In an effort to make the upcoming updates go smoother and faster, the migration of several new features from Developers’ branch to Masters took place, setting Monday March 2nd as an official release day.
The Wialon Locator feature has now been officially released. It allows to easily share the unit location with an external party via providing a web link to it. With one click on the link, it opens up a browser that shows the unit on the map. In the new version of the Locator, it is now possible to see geofences and POIs. To access this option you need to click on the bar in top-right user menu, next to the settings dialog. From there you will be able to create hundreds of links; each will have an expiration date, which can be adjusted by the dispatcher.
Another essential feature will grab various developers’ attention, especially those willing to set up the real-time connection between Wialon and their own software products. The new quality feature for notification is now capable to perform HTTP GET and POST requests. Internally Gurtam developers have found this feature effective for performing the real-time push-notifications for Wialon mobile application, officially released last week.
In places where GPS signal is unavailable – the LBS detector will serve as a handy alternative to GPS. LBS detector can help determine unit location based on cell tower networks. This new tool is now available in Wialon and is supported by any device that transmits mcc, mnc, lac and cell id parameters.
CMS-manager has been slightly modified with the introduction of the new Custom Fields for customer/ user accounts. This feature has been requested by many forum users multiple times. The custom fields will help organize important business-related notes about customer accounts in Wialon. For instance, you can log in the current status of negotiations or simply the name of the company of a certain customer.
Last, but not the least is the new Wialon Route planner, which has now been officially rolled out to the main product branch! This update will save you time by optimizing complex driving routes involving up to 10 different addresses, and provide a capability to indicate a route based on Gurtam Maps. The route engine is now applicable for all the CIS countries, Australia and several European states. We hope these features will highly serve you and your customers, and bring the convenience of using Wialon.
