Last month the community got access to the most awaited novelties in Logistics 2.2. Thanks to Google Maps support our partners got several projects for those in need of advanced routing and precise address information. While fully-fledged HTML editor and multiple route handling significantly enhanced user experience. Today we’ll briefly cover the path of Logistics from v.1.1 to 2.3 becoming the ultimate solution for your business. Let’s proceed with the details.
First, we'll discuss the new functions in Logistics 2.3 implemented, among other things, thanks to the ideas coming in from our forum.
Now you can change units on planned routes. It allows to continue tracking even in case of vehicle breakdown and absence on the route. Moreover, we added a new column displaying the distance from the selected unit to the first order to be performed on the new route. This way, you can precisely calculate mileage and working hours for the newly assigned driver. And thanks to the specialized notifications we are developing now all persons concerned will be informed — both on the part of the customer and contractor.
When editing active routes you can now add single and permanent orders. The new ones appear at the end of the route. That way, if you get urgent orders that will also be relevant for the future, you can start planning the route at once never waiting for tomorrow. In other words, you won’t miss a last-minute order and won’t have to add it to the route twice if the order is permanent. All the above is important for the driver either. He’ll get a notification on route change and will be able to adjust it right away or even re-plan his work for tomorrow.
In the latest update, we implemented autoscaling. The map now changes focus and scale when you click on an order in the table. That way, you can study every order in more details. Still, if you need to track all the orders on the world map, autoscaling only takes your time. To avoid this, you can disable the option in user settings in Logistics 2.3.But that’s not all. We also implemented HTML-editor visual advancements and enhanced usability while working order list. Logistics had a long way to go. From the service to address basic issues of courier services to the multifunctional order management tool for dispatchers and drivers. From 10 users testing it to 100+ partners offering the service for the projects of various scales. From standard projects for delivery and field services to businesses striving for unconventional implementation. Every single thing for less than 1,5 years. On the day of Logistics 2.3 release, we decided to take something big with a few words, as we’re up to another thousand hours of development. And you’ll need the time to perform the most ambitious projects with the service.
All the above and much more can be found in the updated Logistics presentation allowing you to promote the ultimate order management service in the most competitive markets. At the end of December, Logistics users will get special Dashboard and another Christmas surprise. But that’s the different story. And now, as we say in Gurtam, "He who controls the orders – controls the world". So, good luck!
