Wialon system users are aware that over time all the old messages from units will be automatically deleted from Wialon. That’s why our clients “backup” messages into files or archives with the option to view the files in future. However if the saved file can’t be viewed due to limited storage period, the company gets a “dead” file, making all the backup operations useless.
That’s the reason why we released new Backup Viewer application designed to view archive messages and unit tracks. To view message history it’s necessary to import standard or archived .wln file to the app. After a file is uploaded unit track and messages table are displayed.
Single or multiple files import is available. In the latter case the files are imported one by one, while tracks and tables will be formed for each imported file. The corresponding quantity of tracks is displayed on the map. The table is formed for the active (selected) track. Uploaded messages may be filtered by date if the specified period of time is selected. Whenever such filter is applied, irrelevant parts of tracks aren’t displayed and the table contains only those messages meeting search criteria.
Backup Viewer interface is simple and user-friendly. After pointing on a track a tooltip containing data on speed, time and address for the point appears. The following columns are available in messages table:
Irrelevant columns may be disabled, if necessary.
The app is useful for those companies who need to store data over a long period and, if necessary, provide evidence of violations or driver incompliance regardless of terms of limitations.
Like most of the apps developed by Gurtam, Backup Viewer is available in apps tab of Wialon web-interface. Try it and leave your comments and suggestions on our forum.
Have a good day!
