1,900,000 units on Wialon: step by step closer to 2 million!

March 2019 is here together with 1,900,000 units connected to the platform! LaxsonGPS from Canada closed another chapter in Wialon’s history and brought us even closer to so much desired two million units.

We contacted the guys to let them know the exciting news and asked several questions on how they got involved in GPS monitoring business and collaboration with Gurtam.

Please tell us more about your business.

Laxson GPS is a privately held company that started operations in May 2015 with SOS personal devices. By the end of 2016, we added equipment and fleet solutions to the portfolio. We have a staff of six employees based in the international headquarters in Montreal, QC, and the US office in St-Albans, Vermont, USA. They support a network of 12 Resellers with 50+ sales reps on the field.

LaxsonGPS offers Security, Communication and Monitoring Solutions for Employees, Equipment and Vehicles. The company is focused on workforce safety with the clients mainly in construction, manufacturing, warehouses, mining, oil, gas, public works, utilities and transportation domains. Most of them are located on the eastern seaboard of the USA and in Eastern Canada.

Sylvian, Nancy, were you surprised to learn your company was the one to connect the 1,900,000th unit to Wialon?

Very surprised. You don’t expect that kind of timing… unless you play the lotto! On the other hand, it shows that Gurtam are noticing the progress, hard work and ethics of their partners and that is what we have shown and continue to do on a daily basis. For us, Gurtam is not a provider, it is a partner!

When and how did you start working with Gurtam? 

We were using our own Globotrac platform for the management of personal devices since the beginning. When we added the equipment and vehicle end of 2016, our provider suggested that we approach Gurtam, a more ‘complete’ solution and ‘great people to work with’ they told us. We did and are very happy about the partnership that we have developed in such a short period. This is enabling us to automate as much as possible to be able to focus on growing our network by answering customer needs and provide training and good customer service. 

How do you rate your cooperation with Gurtam?

10 on 10. The most important thing for a small and growing company like ours is that new situations arise daily on the field. For our small team, being backed up by the Gurtam Engineers Team is crucial and that is what they do: they respond and help.

What are the future perspectives of cooperation with us?

At the actual pace, we will more than double again this year our number of connections with Gurtam. Also, we are deploying alternate IoT solutions that we would like to be visible on our Gurtam portal in the coming months. And, will be visiting you guys in Minsk this summer!
