Features of Wialon GPS tracking software


Wialon is compatible with Mozilla Firefox 3.0+, Opera 9.5+ and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0+. There is no need to install additional programs, libraries and modules.

On-line tracking with Wialon

All tracked units are shown on the map on at their most recent location. 4. When some units overlap on the map, you can combine them into one group by activating the option "Group overlapped devices. Hover a mouse over a group icon to see its content in a tooltip box.

Languages

Originally Wialon was developed for Russia and post-Soviet Russian speaking countries. Since 2007, however, it's won popularity among GPS tracking providers in other countries as well. By now Wialon has already been translated to more than 15 languages. Some versions, including Arabic, English, and Spanish, are available on Wialon demo access. All translations are made by our customers who would rather use Wialon in their native language, than in English.

Maps

By default, Wialon supports the following map types: WebGIS, OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, Microsoft Live (Bing) Maps. WebGIS map server can also work with third party maps.

Tracks

Wialon users can see their unit tracks on the map. One can select a vehicle (if tracking more than one) and specify a period of time for the tracks. A track can either be solid-colored or have multiple colors depending on the speed of a vehicle on different road sections. Messages from the device

Wialon keeps record of all the messages received from a vehicle by the server, including GPS coordinates and data from sensors. It is possible to export mssages in NMEA 0183 formatand and view data in various programs, including OziExplorer and Google Earth. GPS messages can also be imported to view them on the map in a playback mode. (Both NMEA and Wialon message formats are supported). more...

In the tab "POI / My places", it is possible to set markers in the places that are of some interest or use. Wialon users can name places, add descriptions, and attach an image to any POI. Unlimited number of POIs can be created on the map. more...

Geofencing

Geofences allow to create a virtual perimeter in the geographic areas that are of a certain interest. Geofence can be a polyline (a street or a highway), a polygon (a factory, a field or a city) or a circle. Notifications

The Notification tool makes it possible to receive notifications by SMS, e-mail, or in a pop-up window in case of certain events. A list of events is defined by the user, and may include: speed limits violation, crossing the geofence border, pressing SOS on a GPS device, etc. more...

Wialon allows to generate advanced reports for more than one GPS device or for more than one Geofence.

Geozone visits report displays all the units that were within the borders of a certain geofence over a period of time. This report also reflects the following information: the total time a unit spent within the borders of a Geofence; the total number of the Geofence visits; the average duration of a visit; the number of visits per day; the number of visits at the beginning / end of a period of time, etc.more...

GPS device remote control

With Wialon it is possible to manage GPS devices with SMS messages. There are a number of SMS commands that can be sent to a GPS device. The easiest one is to get current location of it.
