Architecture of Wialon GPS tracking software
Wialon (painted blue) consists of four main parts: cartographic server WebGIG, telematics server, database and a communication service. Altogether it receives, processes and stores data form tracked devices, and sends commands to devices when necessary.
Communication with units is done via UDP, TCP/IP, GPRS and SMS protocols.
Oracle Berkeley DB database stores all messaged that were received from or sent to GPS unit.
Telematic server processes all messages and make GPS and extra information available on request.
Cartographic server WebGIG processes cartographic data and make maps visible to Wialon users.
At Wialon Web server administrator can grant different level of access to different users of the system.
