Wialon Pro Functions

Real time GPS tracking

Wialon Pro combines a large number of functions with a high operating speed and a flexible mechanism that enables to customize the system. Wialon Pro is compatible with almost all GPS devices and external sensors, thus allowing the system to easily process the received data.

The possibility to adjust and configure the system takes a top priority for companies that provide the GPS tracking services over the system functionality which partly agrees within most solutions for GPS tracking. That is why Wialon Pro has two additional modes: Administration and Management.

The modes allow you:

  • to create and manage the accounts;
  • to assign the access rights for users;
  • to specify Wialon Pro server settings;
  • to connect the server to websites to enable the user access;
  • to create the templates for reports;
  • to specify the setting for devices, maps, and billing plans.

Online Monitoring

In Online Monitoring for current user the list of units is available. Besides, a map is available where each vehicle is marked with a particular icon and is displayed online. For the convenience, the units could be grouped together.

You can hold the mouse pointer on a unit to see the detailed information on the current state of the unit (speed, sensor values, etc.) in a popup info tip. If it is required, the unit icons can be replaced with motion state signs, for example, a green arrow shows a moving unit and its direction. Also, the icon colors can be different and depend on the sensor values.

Maps

The system supports different types of maps, including OpenStreetMap, Yandex Maps, Google Maps, Bing Maps, Yahoo Maps. Besides, the basic Wialon Pro package contains WebGIS maps, which could be complete with your vector maps. In particular WebGIS is used for direct and reverse geocoding. To see what route a unit was moving along, you need to create a track and indicate a necessary period of time. Several tracks for one or different units can be displayed on the map at the same time. Wialon Pro allows displaying tracks not only in one color but also showing them in different colors depending on the speed or other sensor value. Click Track Player to see how the unit was moving and how its various parameters were changing with time.

POI or My Places

The GPS tracking system allows you to mark any number of points of interest (POI) on the map. One of the unique Wialon features is the possibility to define POI radius, which appears to be very convenient when you mark big objects (plants, storehouses, fleets) and want to use this information in reports.

You can hold the mouse pointer on a POI to see the additional information on it in a popup window.

Also, it is possible to attribute any HTML tags (including iframe) to POI, which allows downloading the information from other websites, e.g. images taken with webcams, currency exchange rates, weather forecast, and etc.

Geofencing

Geofence, or geographical zone, is a popular instrument that allows creating a virtual perimeter in the geographic areas of a certain interest and used to control the activity of units in these areas. Wialon can show geofences in the following shapes: a line (for example, a street or a highway), a polygon (for example, some factory or a whole city) or a circle.

If it is required, you can receive the alert notifications by email, SMS, or in a popup window, whenever a unit exists or enters a geofence.

Notifications

You can receive notifications by email, SMS, or in a popup window if a certain situation occurs. Thus, for example, you can be notified if a unit goes over a speed limit, an alarm button is pressed, there are changes in sensor value or a connection loss, if a unit is idle or arrives at a control point.

Routes

Wialon allows you to track the units or drivers who are going along the route with the specified control points and a predefined schedule. It is possible to define a departing point, an arriving point and/or other control points on a route, specifying the time when a unit arrives or leaves the points.

Reports

The reports in Wialon are generated based on the editable report templates. Each Wialon user can create a template which best meets his requirements. A report can contain any number of tables and charts specified by the user and display the information over the set period of time.

Most table reports in Wialon system are based on the time intervals that are taken from the log files and match the specified parameters. This type of reports may include the information on trips, stops, engine hours, rides, visited streets and geofences, sensor tracing, violation of speed limits, and etc. The tables are provided with the additional set of filtration parameters that define the information to be displayed in the resulting table. Thus, for example, you can specify the minimum duration and maximum mileage for trips that are to be shown in the report, or report only on the visited geofences with parkings of certain duration.

Besides, a user can regularly receive the reports sent by the tracking system not even logging on to Wialon itself. If you create a corresponding job, the system will send the report by email at regular intervals or according to the schedule .

There are options to print the reports and also to export them into HTML, PDF, Excel, XML or CSV.
