Wialon Data CenterWialon Data Center is the biggest technical platform of our company. The center was specially designed for effective functioning of Wialon Hosting GPS tracking and telematics services. The idea is based on the distributed information processing technology, and the server resources are offered to Wialon Hosting users as web-services. The platform is located in the environment-friendly data center in the Netherlands and connected to the Internet via several 1GBit/s uplinks. The reliable connections are providers by the independent vendors and the European points of traffic exchange. The unique version of Wialon GPS tracking system with different components installed on different physical servers is used in Wialon Data Center. This allows the company to guarantee the high performance capabilities of Wialon Hosting. Nowadays, Wialon Data Center is not only one of the largest telematics M2M platforms in the world, but also one of the fast-growing ones: the number of GPS trackers connected to Wialon Data Center increases up to 10 % every month. For more information on the number of connected devices, see the table below:
The chart below show the number of Wialon online users and units which have been connected to Wialon Data Center over the last 24 hours:
Wilon Hosting is used for tracking vehicles, personnel and other mobile units by the companies in more than 50 countries around the globe. The GPS monitoring units which were connected to the Wialon Data Center within the last hour are highlighted in red on the map.
The current uptime of all Wialon components installed on the database server and the client applications server is 759 days. Each server works independently, with the maximum load hardly exceeding 10%. Even if any of the servers crashes, the end-users will not even notice any problem. Wialon Data Center consists of a number of enterprise level servers based on multicore Intel Xeon processors joined into closed LAN. All application servers are targeted for their particular services and work on a redundant N+1 scheme. That means that the shutdown or malfunction of one of them will not affect the efficiency of the rest. In case of any problems, automatic backup services will put the malfunctioned service on a reserve server for a few minutes.
